    This is a really exciting part of the design process as we meet each other and help you with the early stages of your dream garden.

    Our consultations have been set up to deliver you real value. Many of our clients move with us from consultation stage all the way through to installation. This saves stress and ensure a quality job from beginning to end..

    Sydney garden consultation - what does it include?

    Design concept

    Most of our clients have some established ideas based upon magazine or online garden images they have seen. This initial research is a perfect start, but without professional design advice it can also be overwhelming.
     
    We encourage your ideas and combine them with our own professional ideas to create a broad design concept that is coherent and suits your taste, lifestyle and your site.
     

    Your brief

    During the consultation, we will help you develop your brief from both a professional design and lifestyle perspective. This blends your own initial ideas with our own design suggestions. The end result will deliver a coherent brief to move forward as the foundation of your design.

    Budget

    We will provide you with rough costing advice while discussing ideas. This will enable you to develop a budget estimate and learn which ideas to include in your project. This helps form the basis of our fee proposal.

    On site sketches

    While we are on-site, we may hand sketch some broad design concepts – these are yours to keep after the consultation. Bearing in mind this is not a full landscape design plan which is included after the approval of our fee proposal.

    Plant suitability

    We will have the opportunity to discuss a style for your garden and discover general plant suitability based upon your site, orientation and climate. Our suggestions vary depending the type of garden eg rooftop garden vs leafy backgarden. 

    As qualified horticulturalists, this on-site experience is valuable to make sure your new garden thrives.

    Our consultation doesn’t include a detailed planting schedule, as this is included in our full landscape design service.

    After the consultation we will send you a fee proposal. This will outline your brief and include a quote for landscape design, project liaison & procurement.

    The initial consultation does not include a detailed plan or concept sketch but does include style suggestions and basic hand drawn layout sketches while onsite. 

    This first on site visit enables us to see your outdoor area and discuss your ideas and offer broad suggestions.

    For many clients the initial consultation opens up new creative design ideas. They then have the choice to source and manage the project themselves OR use the experience of Vogue & Vine to deliver their project from full landscape design to completion.
